Holy Hotness Batman
How about this heat? I know it's really no different than any other summer in Texas, but every year it seems hotter than the last. Seth and I played golf on Saturday and it was more or less like playing in a windy oven. It didn't seem to affect Seth's dad's game. He took us to school.

We were in Waco on account of Seth's graduation from Baylor. He is now a Master of Music, so be sure to tell him congrats next time you see him.

There has been some sort of problem with the posting of these blogs that I was unaware of. So along with this posting are few that I have written but somehow got lost in cyberspace.

Speaking of golf, Seth, my dad, and myself are going to be playing in a golf tourny down in Kerrville in Sept. I'll let you know more about that next week (don't laugh I'm going to update this thing weekly from now on, check it).

Prior to the golf we had been down in Corpus at the Executive Surf Club. Manny and everyone down there treated us real nice, and we look forward to going back soon. Friday night we were out at Poodie's. Thanks to the Casey Donahue band for opening up, go see those guys if you get a chance. Nobody went to jail or anything so we figured it was a successful show. That, and I got to play drums and electric guitar that night. The show is headed for new levels, you really need to come see on if it has been a while.

This week looks to be pretty exciting, I'm playing acoustic at the Albert Icehouse in Albert, TX. The proprietor of Albert is a man named Bobby, who apparently bought the town and is working to restore the Icehouse to a place of music, beer, fun, and fellowship. So far so good by what I can tell. Drew Kennedy and I played out there a couple of weeks ago and had a blast. The first hour is broadcast on the Revolution out of Kerrville too, so if you can't make it just tune in online at http://www.hillcountryradionetwork.com/.

Thursday the whole band will be headed to Dallas to open for the Lost Trailers. I am excited for that, it is part of the Texas Twister 96.7 music series. We've done it twice before but it has rained every other time, so hopefully we'll actually get to play on the big outdoor stage. Saturday we'll head down to Kerrville and play at Kuder Brownz. I do love heading to the Hill Country and playing in my "hometown-in-law". Saturday we'll wrap things up in New Braunfels at Tavern on the Gruene.

We are laying the ground work for the new album and we are very excited about the possibilities that exist. We'll post more as we know. Keep on the myspace for some new music to be posted this week. It will be some live cuts of some songs we are considering for the album.

Go see Talladega Nights. It's hilarious. I don't know how or why, but Will Ferrel is one of the funniest humans alive. I can't help but laugh at anything he does.

Come see us at a show, and if you can't make it to one of ours see one of our friends. Support the music and we'll see you at a show soon.j

Hola amigos y amigas.I catch a lot of flack for being very lazy about updating this thing, so here you go Mike. I am at the moment of this writing on hold with Southwest Airlines and there is quite a jazzy little song playing in my ear. I am trying to book a flight to OKC tomorrow. It looks like we are getting a new van, and that is where it is. It has been such a crazy couple of weeks. I've been lied to, stolen from, and because neither of them ruined me (though I thought they might) I somehow feel more determined than ever to make my life as a musician work. Along those lines, we are auditioning drummers. If you are one, or know one, get a hold of us.Our current "Everybody Knows" is reminding me of the movie Rudy. Just tough as nails hanging out with other songs that maybe nobody ever thought it would. It hasn't been any sort of smash hit single, but it clawed it's way on to the chart and it ain't going anywhere. It set up shop in the mid twenties and hasn't really left. It is actually up 2 spots to #26 this week. Rock on "Everybody Knows", rock on.We've got some sweet shows coming up with the likes of Brandon Rhyder and Kevin Fowler not to mention a few of our own. We're headed out to El Paso this Wednesday. We'll get that new van good and broken in. Tonight however is a pretty special night for us. Our good friend Brandon Rhyder asked us to fill in a Monday for him at Antone's. He's been hosting acoustic shows there every Monday for the last few months and they have been going wonderful. We are very excited to get a chance to do our thing. It will be Seth on cello, and Kris and I on acoustics. I really hope you guys can make it out.The crowds have been growing, and support is ever deepening for what we are doing. It is exciting. Big ups to KB Talent and 3 Leaf Management, our new team. The foundations are being laid for a live album in the next few months. We'll keep you posted about that, it will not be one to miss. But for now... spread the word, keep the faith, and don't go to jail. Peace out.josh

I hope everyong had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. I know we did. I hope you were able to remember our soldiers and what the holiday is really about. It has been ages since I have posted anything, sorry. I am a year older, a year married, and as busy as I have ever been. We've been on some wild trips in the past couple of months as our popularity seems to grow. Thank you very much to those of you who support us in our efforts, talk about us online, and show up at shows. I have to cut this short, but I'll write more soon. Josh
